What We Are Doing Now
Susanne and Jane have opened up their home along with their hearts to rescue and rehabilitate wildlife on a small scale. With limited space and resources they do all that they can to accommodate the orphaned, injured and sick wildlife in need.
With their own time and money they have created a small rehabilitation facility and fenced in a large portion of their land to create a pre-release and final release habitat in the Noosa Hinterland.
Joeys that come into their care are fully reliant on the kindness of humans. In the wild joeys are vulnerable and fully dependent on their mother, remaining in the pouch, feeding on their mothers milk for months.
This is the role Susanne and Jane take on as they care for them and ensure they get their measured regular feedings of formulated milk at scheduled times throughout the day and night.

Joeys can remain in their mothers pouch for up to 8 months thus the rescue Joeys in care hang in a hand made designer pouch made of two layers of soft fabric that simulates the real thing. Wildlife carers replicate the pouch environment, providing them with the assistance they need to become independent.
Not only do these joeys need feeding but they require, toileting, a temperature controlled environment, vet care, a humidicribif they are so young they have not yet grown hair, and a lot of patience and love. Trae and Michelle have learnt and love to feed the joeys and are slowly gaining skills to be capable wildlife carers themselves.
While our commitment to caring for every animal in our sanctuary remains unwavering, there are countless more in desperate need beyond our gates. Our current space is at capacity, and our resources are stretched to their limits. To truly fulfill our mission and give every animal a fighting chance, we must expand our facilities and resources. This growth is essential, not just to meet the increasing need, but to ensure that no wildlife is left behind or turned away. By expanding, we can offer hope, healing, and a safe refuge to all those who depend on us. The time to act is now, because their survival depends on it.
