With extensive volunteer experience at Koala Conservation Australia, serving in leadership roles such as Management Committee member, Team Leader, Rescuer, and international presenter, she has also contributed to charity governance and coordinated wildlife search and rescue missions in bushfire zones. As a passionate ambassador for Australian wildlife, Susanne has shared her expertise through German TV programs, radio interviews, and magazine features. Bringing a strong spirit of achievement and proven leadership from her successful Swiss retail business, she is deeply committed to protecting Australia’s precious animals with dedication and professionalism.

Jane

Jane brings decades of hands-on experience rescuing and caring for Australia’s native wildlife, including koalas, macropods, birds, possums, gliders, flying foxes, and bats. With over ten years of dedicated volunteer service at Koala Conservation Australia, holding key roles such as President, Treasurer, Team Leader, Rescuer, Home Carer, and Presenter, she has demonstrated exceptional leadership and commitment. Trained in wildlife search and rescue operations in bushfire zones, Jane combines her practical expertise with strong charity management skills, mentoring volunteers and contributing actively to management committees. Her entrepreneurial background in founding and running successful businesses further enhances her ability to drive impactful conservation efforts. Rooted in bold compassion and unwavering honesty, Jane’s values guide her relentless dedication to protecting and nurturing native wildlife.

Trae

Trae brings over a decade of leadership experience managing a successful not-for-profit incorporated association, where she developed strong expertise in governance, compliance, and regulatory frameworks. She has recruited, trained, and mentored a diverse team of more than 25 staff, fostering a collaborative and effective workplace. With a background in international travel and hotel management, Trae’s global perspective and operational insight uniquely equip her to oversee the sanctuary’s accommodation facilities as a sustainable long-term revenue stream. A committed global citizen and human rights advocate, Trae’s passion is deeply rooted in freedom, generosity, respect, equality, and diversity. Her hands-on experience with grassroots projects delivering clean water to remote communities fuels her dedication to inspiring social responsibility and environmental stewardship in future generations, empowering young people to champion diversity and build a more just and compassionate world.

Michelle

With 25 years of unwavering dedication to human health and wellbeing, Michelle has become a respected educator, trainer, and passionate advocate. As Manager of an exclusive health facility, she honed her skills in securing funding, navigating complex regulations, leading and inspiring teams, forging international partnerships, and championing client wellbeing. Her earlier work as a lecturer and researcher at the University of Technology, Sydney, reflects her commitment to knowledge and community impact. Deeply driven by compassion for all living beings, Michelle is a fierce advocate for animal rights and welfare, actively supporting Animals Australia and volunteering with the Animal Justice Party. Her tireless community engagement led to a landmark victory, successfully lobbying the NSW Government to install 19 speed humps in a wildlife hotspot, dramatically reducing animal injuries and deaths. Guided by core values of integrity, responsibility, authenticity, and justice, Michelle’s work is a powerful testament to her commitment to creating a safer, kinder world for both humans and wildlife.

Anna

Anna is a passionate and caring individual dedicated to making a difference in the lives of animals. As one of the Directors of Second Chance Wildlife Sanctuary, she is committed to giving animals a second chance at life. With a background in healthcare and education, including roles as a naturopath, midwife, and teacher’s aide for deaf children, Anna brings a unique blend of compassion and expertise to the team. Anna’s nurturing approach and her dedication will strengthen our efforts to provide exceptional care and healing to Australia’s native wildlife. Her heartfelt belief in our journey fuels her determination to help us build a sanctuary where every animal receives the love, respect, and medical attention they deserve.
